(Massena) Fundraising efforts for the new daycare in Massena continued Saturday night at the Fire Station at Massena Chamber’s Christmas Lighted Parade.
Fundraising Committee Treasurer Katie Biehn says that after COVID, the community received some grant money, followed by a survey asking for the community’s response on the need for daycare.
The daycare will house infants to four-year-olds and have an afternoon school program for preschoolers through sixth grade.
The daycare can house 41 children, with an unlimited capacity for school-aged children.
Biehn says the daycare is still under construction and aims to have it licensed within the next month.
