(Des Moines, IA) — Iowa residents are taking steps to keep their pets safe from a mysterious illness affecting dogs.
Researchers in New Hampshire say it may have derived from a bacterial infection, which can turn into pneumonia or other health issues. Experts say if your dog is coughing consistently, take them to the vet, and they also advise to separate any coughing dogs from healthy dogs as it is contagious.
Officials say the illness has been confirmed in Des Moines.
