(Eagle Grove) A Webster City man died in a single-vehicle crash following a pursuit in Wright County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 12:30 a.m. this morning (Sunday) on Highway 17 and 308th Street south of Eagle Grove. Authorities say 36-year-old Jose Casiano died at the scene.
A Wright County Deputy observed Casiano driving erratically. When the deputy attempted a traffic stop on Casiano, he fled, traveling at 130 miles per hour. Casiano failed to negotiate the curb and went into the ditch. Casiano was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Grove Fire Department, Eagle Grove EMS, and Hennigars Towing.
