(Ames, IA) – The Cyclones men’s basketball season is fast approaching. At the Cyclones Media Day yesterday, Otzelberger spoke to reporters and said that he thinks the team can improve on their free throw shooting this year. In his third season as head coach, the Cyclones had the lowest free-throw shooting percentage in the Big XII last year as they shot just 67%.
The Cyclones have seen a vast amount of success from Otzelberger’s last two seasons. Iowa State was 2-22 before he took over the helm and ripped things in the right direction as they have been to the NCAA Tournament for each of the last two years. Iowa State begins its season against Green Bay on November 6th for a string of home games to start the season.
