(Guthrie Center, IA) – AC/GC is seeing success in every level of their athletics this fall from cross-country to football to volleyball. The Chargers cross-country team has seen success in both their boys and girls programs. In week six, the Chargers boy’s team was ranked number one in Class 1A. Lead runners include state-ranked #8 Andrew Mahaffey and #26 Gavin Sloss.
This AC/GC boy’s team has continued to see success in every meet as they earned first place at the Charger Invitational last week. Head coach Colin Shawgo has been impressed with not only the athletic ability of his athletes but their leadership.
The AC/GC girls finished in the top ten at number seven in last week’s rankings for week six. This is a very successful team as not one specific runner is ranked in the top 20, but Ava Campbell is a leader and a hard worker who looks to make it into the rankings in week seven.
The Chargers girl’s team also won their invite last week as AC/GC has seen success in their home invitational for the last seven years as both the boys and girls continue to win the invitational just about every year.
AC/GC will be back in action this Thursday, October 5th at the Jim Klein Cross Country Invitational at 5:00 p.m.
