(Lewis) Anglers do not put away your rod and reel just yet; some of the best fishing is upon us, according to Bryan Hayes, Fisheries Biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
Hayes says water temperatures will also cool as the temperatures cool, shedding a lot of the algae and clearing up the water to improve our fishing.
Hayes says Prairie Rose topped the list of top fishing spots this past spring.
Hayes and the DNR are currently during their fall trap netting.
Hayes says to try Lake Anita, Viking Lake would be a good trip, and Three Mile and Twelve Mile Lakes are destinations for some good fishing.
