(Audubon Co) Audubon County Conservation Director Bruce Haag continued discussions with the Board of Supervisors this morning regarding issues with the T-Bone Trail.
Supervisors Chairman Doug Sorensen said they have been discussing how to improve the 17-mile trail that spans from Audubon down to the Interstate.
Sorensen said Bruce Haag and his staff went down the trail and came up with around 2,100 to 2,200 dead trees that need to be removed. Some of them are Elm Trees, but the bulk of them are Ash Trees.
Sorensen said they discussed various options to remove the trees.
Sorensen said the next step is to figure out how to fund the tree removal. He said another thing Bruce Haag believes they need is a bike trail foreman and assistant to maintain the trail because there is a lot of continuous maintenance that needs done on the trail. Sorensen said there will be many more discussions on this to come.
