(Adair Co) A Greenfield man faces charges following a traffic stop that occurred in April.
According to the report, a sedan, driven by 28-year-old Aaron Pearson, was stopped in the 1400 block of Stuart Road on April 25th for going 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. During the stop, the officer immediately smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and a grinder with green plant materials and a blue pipe with a burnt residue was located in Pearson’s pocket. Two glass methamphetamine pipes and a sealed plastic bag with a crystalline substance that field tested positive for Methamphetamine was located in the car, as well as an orange prescription bottle containing a baggy with a green leafy plant material and two prescription pills. Pearson was taken to the Adair County Jail. After DCI lab testing confirmed Methamphetamine in Pearson’s urine and the substance in the plastic bag tested positive for methamphetamine, Pearson was charged with Operating While under the Influence 1st Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st, and Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drug.
In other activity, 28-year-old Rebecca Labertew, of Des Moines, was cited following a traffic stop in Stuart on August 26th. During the stop, Labertew admitted to officers that she had marijuana on her person and handed it over to the officer. During a search of the vehicle, a marijuana pipe was located. Labertew was released on a summons to appear for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was given a written warning for Unlawful use of a License. The driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old Justin Fitzmier, of Mound City, Missouri, admitted to possessing THC wax and a “dab ring” or a glass pipe with plastic on the outside that had residue on it consistent with smoking THC wax or “dab”. Fitzmier was released on a summons to appear for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and given warnings for No Valid Driver’s License, Open Container and Improper Rear Lamp.
Joseph Skiles, 62, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, was arrested on August 21st for Theft 5th Degree. Skiles is accused of taking a bottle of vodka from Casey’s in Adair. He was held on $300 cash or surety bond.
