(Iowa City, IA) – Caitlin Clark makes headlines once again as she has been named a finalist for the AAU James E. Sullivan Award. We reported on Clark being a semi-finalist in July, as she has now been named a finalist for the award.
According to the AAU website, the award, “Honors the outstanding athlete in the United States. It has been presented annually by the AAU since 1930 as a salute to founder and past president, James E. Sullivan.” This award goes with the criteria based upon an athlete who contains aspects of leadership, good character, and sportsmanship.
Clark led her team to its first-ever NCAA Championship game and even posted the first 40-point triple-double in NCAA history. She has earned multiple awards during her career which include the 2023 Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year, Honda Cup Award, Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, 2023 Naismith, Wooden, and Wade Trophies, AP and USBWA Ann Drysdale Player of the Year honors. Caitlin is also a two-time First Team Academic All-American and was named to the 2023 CSC Academic All-America of the Year.
