(Atlantic) Pig Pals Cass County is returning to the Cass County Fair this weekend.
Laura Robinson is spearheading the program. Twelve mentors and 12 youths in fourth grade and up, whether in 4-H or not, participated in the program last year to spark interest in showing swine at the County Fair.
In March, Robinson contacts exhibitors with a flyer to see if they would be interested in mentoring and partnering with some youth in the community.
Quincy Robinson entering his third year showing pigs, is signed up to mentor again this year.
Laura Robinson is welcoming a special guest to the show this year.
The show features the mentor staying with the pig pal for part of the show, the judge will separate them, and the youth learning to show will take over to see how they perform on their own.
The Cass County Fair starts July 27 and runs through August 1.
