(Adair Co) Four people were arrested on drug charges in Adair County.
The Iowa State Patrol arrested 25-year-old Nathaniel Wayne Rogers and 24-year-old Nicholas Inrachavongsa, both of Des Moines, on July 21st following a traffic stop near the 96 mile marker of I-80 eastbound. During the stop, a K9 was requested to perform an exterior vehicle sniff. Upon positive indication, a probable cause search was performed. During the search, a glass jar with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was located in the center console. A digital scale and cash were also located. During a search of Roger’s person, approximately 11.5 grams of a white powdery substance was located in two small baggies in Roger’s sock along with a one-dollar bill balled up with a white powdery rock, also believed to be cocaine. Rogers was charged with Drug Tax Stamp Violation and Intent to Deliver False Cocaine. He was held in the Adair County Jail on $5,000 cash or surety bond. Inrachavongsa was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st. He was held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.
The Iowa State Patrol arrested 29-year-old Michael Anthony McBride, of Wyoming, Michigan, on July 21st following a traffic stop at the 78 mile marker of I-80. During the stop, the Trooper detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle and observed a glass jar containing what appeared to be marijuana shake on the front passenger seat. A probable cause search yielded approximately 1/8th of an ounce of marijuana, approximately five grams of cocaine, a loaded 9 millimeter handgun, and a short barreled .223 caliber rifle. The handgun returned stolen out of Mount Pleasant, Michigan. McBride was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of marijuana, Felon in Control of Firearms, and Possession of Stolen Property. He was held in the Adair County Jail on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
The Adair Police Department arrested 43-year-old Caleb A Root, of Concord, Michigan, on July 22nd following a traffic stop on Cedar Avenue in Adair. During a search of the car, the officer located a small container of marijuana wax, a pipe, a box that contained 322 grams of marijuana, a glass jar that contained 14 grams of marijuana and rolling papers, a small container with two white rock-like substances that tested positive for methamphetamine, and a bottle containing four orange oval pills that were a schedule 2 controlled substance. Root was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Providing False Identification Information, Failure to Affix Drug Stamp, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and on an outside warrant. He was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
In other activity, the Adair Police Department arrested 49-year-old David Robert Duarte, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 18th on a warrant for Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Operating While Under the Influence 2nd Offense. He was held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested 43-year-old Mark Ivanko, of Fairview, New Jersey, on July 22nd following a traffic stop near the 95 mile marker of I-80. Ivanko was charged with Operating While Under the Influence 1st Offense, Open Container and Speeding. He was held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.
