(Atlantic) The Cass County Child Abuse Prevention Council is partnering with Healthy Cass County Coalition and other local organizations to host a Family Fun Day at Cass County Fair.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 29th from 12:00-4:00 pm. There will be activities placed around the fairgrounds including water fights, a duck pond, a garden story walk, hands-on S.T.E.M activities, a cake walk, yard games, and more. Every activity may not begin exactly at 12:00 pm. The Healthy Cass County Booth offers an opportunity to learn and share ideas for healthy ways to take care of yourselves, friends, and families.
According to Cass County Supervisor Wendy Richter, The Child Abuse Prevention Council has been part of Family Crisis Support Network since 1992. Richter says the council does different programming on educating the community and aims to get individual participation in local prevention efforts, among other things.
The Family Fun Day includes a map, which will list the activities that will be going on around the fairgrounds. At each location, a participant will receive a stamp to indicate their involvement. If you receive at least 6 stamps, take your map to the Healthy Cass booth in the commercial building to receive a free food voucher for the Chuckwagon Food Stand. You can pick up a map at any of the stations in the fairgrounds.
Organizations participating in the Family Fun Day include Atlantic Fire Department, Atlantic Public Library, Cass County Child Abuse Prevention Council, Cass County Master Gardners, Cass County 4-H, Cass County Farm Bureau, Family Crisis Support Network, Healthy Cass County, Iowa Corn, Iowa Learning Forums, SHIFT ATL, and more.
