(Atlantic) Atlantic Mayor Grace Garrett stated at Wednesday’s City Council meeting, the Code Enforcement team is out in the community and checking properties. Garrett asks business people and homeowners to comply with the code enforcement policies on the books.
Mayor Garrett said the rates have increased.
Garrett encourages property and business owners to comply independently so the city does not have to come in and do the work. Councilman Gerald Brink says it is a lot cheaper to do it themselves. City Clerk Barb Barrick says those properties not in compliance will get a bill in the mail, and they have 30 days to pay it, or it will be added to their property tax bill.
Mayor Garrett asks residents to contact the city with code violations, and they will add it to their list.
