(Cass Co) Cass County Zoning Administrator Mike Kennon spoke to the Board of Supervisors this morning about addressing excessive scrap metal and inoperable vehicles on rural properties.
Kennon said the reason for meeting is to decide a strategy as to how to go about addressing the issues. Kennon gave the Supervisors photos of different properties with varying degree of issues.
Supervisor Steve Green said he doesn’t want them to get into a position where a person calls and complains because a neighbor has an old combine out by a barn.
The Supervisors said it would be best to have the County Attorney look over the ordinance and they can compare what other counties are doing to better define their policy.
In other news, the Supervisors approved the 2023-27 allocation of final ARPA payments to the fire departments; they approved appropriations and transfers for Fiscal Year 2023-2024, and approved homestead and military tax credits as recommended by the Assessor.
