(Atlantic) November is the city elections, and because of the newly drawn districts, two Atlantic Council incumbents are now in Ward 2. Councilman Jim Behrens representing Ward 1, has been moved to Ward 2, currently served by Councilman H. Lee Sisco.
“Even though our Ward 2 Incumbent, Councilman Sisco, is technically not up for re-election for two more years, we do need an election for that Ward 2 Seat,” said Atlantic City Clerk Barb Barrick.
Barrick says Behrens can run for the second ward or the Council At-Large seat. She says even if Behrens decides not to run for either seat, an election will still be held for Ward 2.
Barrick says elections will be held for Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 4, and the at-large seat. Additionally, three seats are up for re-election on the Parks and Recreation Board of Directors.
The filing period begins on August 28 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on September 21. The election is on November 7, and if there is a run-off, that election is scheduled for December 5.
