(Atlantic) The ninth Annual Smackdown Golf Tournament and the second annual Smackdown after dark are scheduled for August 19 at Sunnyside Park in Atlantic. SmackDown Tournament Chairman Kevin Ferguson says over 50 teams are signed up, with a 72 maximum to fill both the Atlantic Golf and Country Club and Nishna Hills Golf Course.
Ferguson says the tournament has taken off from the first event held nine years ago.
Ferguson says the older group will play at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club and the younger group at Nishna Hills.
In partnership with the Atlantic High School Alumni Smackdown Committee and Atlantic Parks and Recreation, the Atlantic Area of Commerce hosts the second annual evening event at Sunnyside Park. The Atlantic Fire Department will have a beer garden and food vendors beginning at 5:00 p.m.
