(Red Oak) Authorities are asking for the public’s help regarding a garage fire at 500 West Coolbaugh Street in Red Oak.
Red Oak Fire Chief John Bruce says they received the call at 1:55 this morning, and upon arrival, smoke and flames were coming from the detached garage. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control containing it to the southwest corner of the garage. Bruce said the structure sustained minimal damage.
Chief Bruce says the fire originated on the exterior, southwest part of the garage near some trash and trash cans and extended up the corner and across the west wall.
Chief Bruce says there was considerable firework debris in the immediate area, and the Red Oak Police Department had received calls for fireworks complaints.

The Red Oak Fire Department was assisted by the Elliott Fire Department, Red Oak Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Communications, and MidAmerican Utilities.
Fireground operations were terminated at approximately 3 a.m.
