(Des Moines) The National Weather Service in Des Moines forecasts a slight risk for severe weather on Tuesday in western Iowa. The main threats are damaging wind gusts and large hail.

Hagenhoff says this system will affect the state’s southwest region Tuesday evening.
The heat index will reach 95-100 degrees, with a chance of severe thunderstorms.
