(Area) Southwest Valley track athlete Emma Cooper competed well over the weekend at the Midwest Night of Stars track and field meet hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University.
The top athletes throughout the Midwest were invited to enter their best performances of the year, and the top 14 entries in each event were invited to compete.
Cooper, a two-time state qualifier in the long jump and 100 meters, finished eighth overall in the long jump (15-07.25) and 13th overall in the 100 meters in a time of 13.349.
Alex Sonntag of Atlantic finished 13th in 1600 in 4:41.08, which is one second off his personal best.
