(Des Moines) A high-pressure system in Minnesota drifting down into Iowa today is causing a rare weather event. The storm systems have been moving east to west rather ‘than normal west-to-eastward movement.
Ashley Bury is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Des Moines. She says the high pressure is forecast to move out, bringing much more favorable weather conditions late this week.
Temperatures will reach the upper 80s today and cool down to the low 80s late in the week.
