(Elk Horn) Tivoli Fest in Elk Horn is this weekend.
Several events will take place throughout the weekend. Tivoli Fest Committee Chair Stan Jens says it all gets started Friday night. “We have some new bands this year. There are two bands Friday night and two bands on Saturday night. There are going to be some new food vendors there. Rocket Barbeque is coming up from Texas and we’ll have sno cone and coffee vendors.
Iowa women’s basketball associate head coach and Elk Horn-Kimballton graduate Jan Jensen will lead the parade as Grand Marshal. “She’s been a staple of our community for a long time. She’s really busy and that’s why it’s been hard to ask her to do it. We know how busy she is with recruiting and everything plus all the non-profit organizations she helps out in Iowa City. I’ve always wanted to ask her. This year I thought I’m just going to ask and if she can’t, so be it, but she said she could work it into her schedule.”
The parade will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
