(Red Oak) A Montgomery County man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday.
The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened at 7:58 p.m. on Highway 34 and Eastern Avenue. Authorities say 68-year-old Miles H. Russell of Red Oak died in the accident, and 54-year-old Jonathan D. Gonseth of Murray was injured.
According to the report, a 2019 Ford F150 traveling eastbound on Highway 34 near Eastern Avenue and driven by Miles H. Russell crossed the centerline. It struck the front driver’s side of a 2007 Peterbilt semi-driven by Jonathan Gonseth. The pickup struck a road sign and came to rest in the north ditch.
Miles H. Russell was pronounced deceased at the scene. Gonseth suffered minor injuries and was transported to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.
