(Greenfield) Ryan Kissell is the next head football coach at Nodaway Valley/O-M.
The former Creston middle school coach will run the Wolverines. “Goals that I have is to get the boys to work hard. Get out there and prove what they can do when they are ready to work and know exactly what they are supposed to be doing on every single play.
Kissell has learned under a lot of outstanding coaches. “I learned so much from every coach that I have ever coached with. Dick Clark, Dick Bergstrom, Brian Morrison, I picked up a lot of things along the way. Todd Jacobsen has been a really big piece in educating me on how to run a program. Tony Nuebauer, working under him as a basketball coach and trying to understand how to run a consistent program and just be there for the kids and do what we have to do to make things happen.”
He’s spent several years coaching at various levels. “I think the ultimate goal was always to get to high school. The timing felt right. I went up to see if there was an opportunity for me to do the job. I guess they liked what they heard or liked what they saw.”
Kissell will be the 7th head coach for the program since 2017.
