The Nebraska senior has been one of the top players in the majors this season. He currently has 10 starts and sits at 7-0 on the season with a 2.11 ERA which sits at fifth overall in the country. Sears also leads the country with a .81 WHIP and only allows 5.7 hits per nine innings.
Nebraska’s standout has also had nine quality starts which are the most for a Huskers since 1999. He will see if he is a finalist on Thursday, June 6th. The award will be presented in Omaha at the site of the College World Series for the 12th year.
