(Council Bluffs) A Bellevue, Nebraska, woman suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Council Bluffs.
Rescue crews responded to the crash at around 6:27 a.m. (Sunday) at Harry Langdon and Highway 92. The Council Bluffs Fire Department extricated the driver from the vehicle. The driver has been identified as 19-year-old Ayana Denny.
According to the report, A red Ford Focus traveling north on Wabash and Harry Langdon Boulevard crossed Highway 92, left the roadway, and struck a power pole guidewire. The Ford came to rest approximately 500 feet from the intersection in the 3300 block of Harry Langdon. Speed and failure to wear a seatbelt are believed to be major contributing factors in this crash.
The roadway shut down for two and half hours while law enforcement investigated the scene, and the power pole was repaired.
The Council Bluffs Police Special Operations Traffic Unit is investigating the accident.
