(Des Moines) Changes are coming to the West Mixmaster in West Des Moines, where Interstates 80, 35, and 235 meet. An 80-million-dollar project will remove one of the cloverleaf ramps and add two flyover bridges instead. The Iowa Department of Transportation says the flyover bridges would connect southbound I-80/35 to I-235. The eastbound ramp towards downtown Des Moines will be installed first. The goal is for construction to be complete by around 2028. The project aims to make traffic smoother on and off the interstate.
