(Atlantic) Atlantic resident Leann Pellett spoke on behalf of the thirty-concerned citizens attending Wednesday’s School Board meeting and stated many other citizens that were upset about the School Administration allowing a student walk-out event held on school property on March 1.
Pellett was speaking in regards to the event on March 1 termed in the digital school newspaper as “anti-LGBTQIA+ bills being debated in the Iowa legislature.
Pellett says they would like to see a policy established by the Atlantic School Board to allow such events to be held only before or after school instructional hours, and preferably not on school property.
Pellett asked the school to concentrate on the necessary basics like math, languages, and science, as that taxpayers financially support.
There were no comments from the board.
