(Union Co) A Fontanelle woman was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident in Union County Friday afternoon.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Alan Blazek, of Fontanelle, was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty south on Clover Avenue when a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by 72-year-old Michael Wolfe of Creston, crossed the intersection. Blazek tried pressing on the brakes to avoid hitting the pickup, but was unsuccessful. The Jeep struck the pickup on the passenger side.
Velma Blazek, 48, was transported to the Greater Regional Medical Center by ambulance to be checked out due to an injury on her head.
Michael Wolfe failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign and was given a written warning for failing to yield the right of way.
