(Mills Co) A Council Bluffs man was arrested following an accident in Mills County Sunday morning.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Troy Richard Rehfeldt was driving a 2004 Dodge westbound on Brothers Avenue when the vehicle entered the north ditch for unknown reasons and then struck a guide wire connected to a power pole, causing the power line to come loose and fall to the ground. This caused a large field fire. Rehfeldt fled the scene and was later found crashed out in a ditch not far from the accident scene. Rehfeldt was arrested for OWI 3rd. Bond was set at $5,000.
In other activity, the Sheriff’s Office arrested 45-year-old Andy Charles Andrews, of Council Bluffs, this morning for Driving Under Suspension. Bond was set at $300.
