(Griswold) On Monday evening, the Griswold School Board approved contracts for certified and non-certified staff. Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs says this is the first year of a two-contract approved by the board one year ago.
Henrichs says the board settled on a two-year five-percent package increase with a couple of stipulations next school year. He says the contract reads that if the state supplemental aid comes in at less than one percent or more than four percent, both parties agreed to return to the bargaining table.
Henrichs says the district is partially self-insured, which makes the deductible and out-of-pocket expenses less for the district’s staff. He says with the extra policy when a staff member has a claim before the deductible is paid out of the separate account.
The teachers will receive a $1,250 base salary increase, and all other staff will receive an increase of 80 cents per hour. Henrichs adds staff members who have not resigned were issued a contract on Monday.
