(Griswold) Five boys are out for golf at Griswold.
The Tigers will be led by Kamron Brownlee. “That kid’s got the golf bug. He plays a lot over the summer. Very consistent. Very good hands around the green. He’ll be a leader for us this year for sure.”
Coach Jason Reynolds is also optimistic about what sophomore Hogan Hook can bring to the team. “Golf is in that kid’s DNA. Very knowledgeable. Last year he was super close and my gut tells me this year he’s going to break out. It’s going to be fun to watch.”
Two more sophomores will round out their full-time roster. “Alex Nelson, he’s very new to the game. We are going to work on consistency this spring and spend a lot of time with him around the green with chipping and putting. Auden Wilson, he’s a track kid really, but he loves golf. He was injured over the winter and can’t run track so he’s joining us for golf. He’s in a lot of sports and a quality athlete with some qualities we can work with.”
Griswold will also have the services of dual sport participant Brayden Lockwood. The Tigers are scheduled to start the season on Monday, April 3rd against Essex and Nodaway Valley in Greenfield.
