(Greenfield) Iowa House District #23 Representative Ray Sorensen defended the government reorganization bill passed through the House last week.
The Greenfield Republican says it had been 40 years since Iowa reorganized its’ state government. The bill went through eight hearings before passing through the State Government and Appropriations committee.
Sorensen says the bill aims to streamline government, increase efficiency, eliminate redundancies, save taxpayer dollars, and ensure state government better serves the people of Iowa. The bill shrinks the government from 37 state agencies down to 16.
Representative Sorensen says no state services for Iowans will be lost, and no state employee will lose their job.
