(Adair Co) Seven people were arrested on drug-related charges in Adair County.
The Adair Police Department arrested 26-year-old Abraham J Pena, of Paterson, New Jersey, and 22-year-old Dariefly Jesus Pena-Ortega, of Raleigh, North Carolina, following a traffic stop on March 14th. They were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st Offense, Failure to Affix Drug Stamp, and Intent to Deliver Cocaine over 500 grams. Both men were held in the Adair County Jail on $25,000 cash or surety bond.
The Greenfield Police Department arrested 40-year-old Dustin Brian Benge, of Greenfield, following a traffic stop on March 13th for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) 2nd Offense and Driving While License Denied or Revoked. Benge was held on $3,000 cash or surety bond.
The Stuart Police Department arrested 29-year-old Shannon Rae Snyder, of Stuart, following a traffic stop on March 14th for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) 1st Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Snyder was held on $2,300 cash or surety bond.
The Adair Police Department arrested 23-year-old Manuel Arturo Avila-Leanos, of Des Moines, and 24-year-old Ramiro Miguel Mendez, of Marshalltown, following a traffic stop on March 14th. Avila-Leanos was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 2nd Offense. He was held on $1,000 cash or surety bond. Mendez was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 3rd Offense. He was held on $2,000 cash or surety bond.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office cited 64-year-old Danny Ray Robinson, of Des Moines, on March 15th for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Robinson was released.
In other activity, the Iowa State Patrol arrested 35-year-old Anthony William Runner, of Des Moines, following a traffic stop on March 16th. Runner was charged with OWI 3rd Offense, Driving While License Denied or Revoked, Child Endangerment and Speeding. Runner was driving 91 mph is a 70 mph zone. He had four children in his vehicle between the ages of five and nine. Runner failed the field sobriety testing and a preliminary breath test resulted in a breath alcohol concentration of higher than .08. Runner was held on $8,000 cash or surety bond.
The Greenfield Police Department arrested 51-year-old Dean Lemoin Griffith II, of Bridgewater, on March 17th for Public Intoxication and Assault following an incident at the Greenfield Bowling Alley. Griffith was held on $300 cash or surety bond.
