Iowa Releases Comprehensive Drought Plan

(Des Moines, IA)  —  Iowa has a new drought plan.

Tim Hall, with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, said the plan includes a monthly update on drought conditions, ranging from normal to emergency conditions.   Hall says the plan aims to create more clear standards for local utilities.  The plan came out of talks between the Iowa DNR, Department of Agriculture, and Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
