(Area) Final numbers are in for Iowa’s Deer Harvest.
In 2022 the Iowa Deer Harvest exceeded the goal of the DNR. “109,611 were the total harvest this year. It makes it another very successful deer season for Iowa.”
Bryan Hayes with the Iowa DNR Office in Lewis says harvest included 53,500 does and about 56,000 bucks. “How does that stack up to previous years? In 2021 we reported 102,7200. 2020 was 109,000 so identical to 2022 was the year 2020. 2019 was right at 100,000, so a little shorter in 2019.”
Guthrie County harvested 3,232 deer, Adair County 1,107 Adams County 931, Pottawattamie County 719, Cass County 570, Audubon County 316, and Shelby County 302.
