(Corning) Creston held a 30-point lead going into the final day of the 68th Annual John J. Harris Wrestling Tournament in Corning and did nothing but widen the gap with a strong day on Saturday. The Panthers move within one team title of Winterset for the most in the tourney’s storied history. It’s the 3rd straight title for the Panthers.
Creston sent five wrestlers to the finals. Lincoln Keeler (126) and Kaden Street (170) won championship for the Panthers.
Winterset had three winners with Keegan Jensen (138), Abe Bushong (145), and Carter Smuck (195). Red Oak had a pair of champs with Adam Baier at 152 and Dawson Bond at 160. Other individual winners were Missouri Valley’s Eli Becerra at 113, Riverside’s DJ Bramman at 106, ACGC’s Tegan Slaybaugh at 120, Lenox’s Dylan Stein at 132, MVAOCOU’s Kolby Scott at 182, Denison-Schleswig’s Jaxson Hildebrand at 220, and Atlantic’s Evan Sorensen at 285.
Creston scored 215.5 points, Winterset followed with 157.5 to place 2nd. Atlantic game in 3rd with 147.
Atlantic’s Brenden Casey picked up his 100th career win in the consolation semifinals.
