(Atlantic) Cass County Public Health Director Beth Olsen spoke at the Cass County Board of Health Board this week, providing information about Disaster PrepWise, a theory-based Program developed through collaborations between researchers at the University of Iowa College of Public Health and community partners in Iowa.
Olsen says the program is the first to provide a tool and personalized assistance to help households develop disaster management plans. She says the program is offered at no cost to older adults.
The program also includes home evacuation procedures. That would include a list of emergency contacts, medication supplies, and food supplies.
Olsen says those interested in this free program can contact Cass County Public Health to schedule an appointment.
