(Adair Co) An Orient man was arrested on drug and theft charges.
The Adair County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Michael Ross Waddingham was charged on Saturday with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense, Theft 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drug, and Controlled Substance Violation.
A Deputy ran the license plate of the vehicle Waddingham was in and it was confirmed stolen out of Ottumwa. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and the following items were located: two plastic baggies of a white crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine – the two baggies totaled a weight of eight grams, two baggies containing a green bud-like substance consistent with marijuana, prescription pills in a bottle with the label removed, multiple glass marijuana pipes, a cell phone, a stem consistent with smoking methamphetamine, multiple empty plastic baggies, hypodermic needles, and a wallet containing a large amount of $20 bills.
Waddingham has prior convictions for Possession of a Controlled Substance in Union and Adair counties. He was held in the Adair County Jail on $50,000 cash or surety bond.
