(Des Moines) The National Weather Service Winter Weather Advisory for portions of southwest Iowa and Ice Storm Warning remains in effect until 6:00 p.m. this evening for Northwest and parts of northern Iowa.
Pottawattamie, Harrison, Shelby, Audubon, and Guthrie Counties are under the Winter Weather Advisory. Forecasters say mixed precipitation is possible, with snow accumulations of up to around one inch and ice accumulations of about one-tenth of an inch.
Northwest and northern Iowa are under an Ice Storm Warning with ice accumulations of one-quarter of an inch and additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches. Carroll and Crawford Counties are included in this warning.
A handful of counties in southwest Iowa are under a Dense Fog Advisory this morning until 9:00 a.m. Those counties include; Cass, Adair, Adams, Union, and Taylor. Visibility is less than one-quarter of a mile or less in some areas.
