(Pottawattamie Co) Pottawattamie County is looking at increasing compensation for Township Trustees and Clerks.
Township Trustees are responsible for providing or contracting for fire protection and emergency services, maintaining cemeteries, enforcing fence regulations and other duties. Township Clerks are responsible for maintaining records of all proceedings and orders of the Trustees.
Currently, in Pottawattamie County, there are three mandatory meetings of the Trustees and Clerks, and the Clerks have the option of having 12 other meetings where they can do their paperwork each month.
It was suggested raising the compensation to $40 per meeting.
The Supervisors stated that they have no issue with raising the compensation. A resolution will be put together for the Supervisors’ approval at a future meeting.
