(Stanton) The bid opening for the dirt work for the Stanton Child Resource Center expansion project will be held at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at Farmer’s Mutual Telephone Company.
Jenna Ramsey, Stanton Community Development Director, says they need to raise $800,000 to reach the $3 million goal. “Two main things we are working on; fundraising and completing the dirt work for the Stanton Child Resource Center project.”
Ramsey says the goal is complete the dirt work this fall. “We continue to fundraise and look for other opportunities,” said Ramsey. “Anyone interested in childcare and knows the need and is willing to donate or help with the cause can contact me.”
Jenna Ramsey can be reached at 712-829-7340 through the Stanton Community Foundation, and any donations can be mailed to the Stanton Community Foundation at Post Office Box 311, Stanton, Iowa, 51573.
The new building will double the classrooms and allow two rooms each for infants, toddlers, preschool, and school-aged children. The new facility will also have a kitchen, break room, and ample storage for items needed to run a childcare center. The Stanton Child Resource Center is licensed for 80 children; the new building will allow 129 children or 49 more spots for families in Montgomery County and the surrounding areas.
