(Avoca) AHSTW is undefeated, heading into week 7. The Vikings have outscored the opposition 41-10 through the season’s first six weeks. On Friday, the Vikings face 4-2 Logan-Magnolia. After dropping their first two games, the Panthers have won four straight and are in second place in Class A District 8 with a 4-1 district record.
AHSTW Head Coach GG Harris says this non-district game at Logan is another good test for his football team. Harris says close to ten players not showing up in the stats every week contribute to their success.
Harris says it all starts up front.
Next up for AHSTW is Logan-Magnolia, a team Coach Harris says is getting better each week. Harris says the Panther’s two losses to start the season are to ranked teams Woodbury Central and Kuemper, both currently leading their respective districts. Harris says Coach Straight always has his team disciplined and fundamentally sound.
The Vikings run a balanced offense with 1,003 yards passing and 1,491 yards rushing. Kyle Sternberg is 51/86 passing for 934 yards, 13 touchdowns, and impressive no interceptions. Luke Sternberg is the team’s leading rusher with 83 carries for 966 yards, 11.6 yards per carry average, and 15 touchdowns.
