(Atlantic)The Atlantic School Board passed the return to learn plan to change mitigation measures for those testing positive for COVID.
According to ESSER regulations, Atlantic School Superintendent Steve Barber says that anytime a school district changes the return-to-learn plan, the board must take action.
Barber reported last summer that they would treat COVID in students as a communicable childhood illness. The adults testing positive for COVID would be required to isolate for five days, with day zero being the first day of symptoms. Upon return, symptom-free, they would be encouraged to wear a mask for five more days. All illness policies remain effective.
This is a change from the district’s previous mitigation of quarantining ten days from when symptoms first appear.
