(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley/O-M enters Week 2 of their football season with plenty of room for improvement. On the heels of a 54-0 loss to Mount Ayr, the Wolverines prepare for Shenandoah.
Coach Seth Comly views Week 1 as a learning experience. “We learned a lot. We learned that we have to come out prepared and come out and play better than we played last week. We learned where people fit and maybe where they don’t fit. We learned what we need to get better at.”
Shenandoah is 1-0 after a 36-24 decision over Missouri Valley last Friday. “They like to run the ball a little more this year it seems like. We definitely want to be able to stop the run and kind of be able to move the ball on offense. Keep ourselves on schedule.”
Coach Comly says the seniors showed a lot of fight in Week 1. As for the focus of Week 2, “Getting back to our roots and our basics. Really just focusing on being a better version of ourselves and fixing all the little things that we did wrong and not getting so caught up in all the bells and whistles.”
Boston DeVault led Nodaway Valley/O-M’s offense last week with three catches for 36 yards. He also posted a team high 11.5 tackles.
