(Atlantic) Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the team is looking forward to the season debut on their home field on Friday night. Atlantic entertains Kuemper, Catholic, Carroll. The Knights are coming off a 34-12 win over Logan-Magnolia. The Trojans fell short to Glenwood, 43-27.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the focus this week is on formation and alignment, which is a step forward in preventing the big play. He says defensively; we were not in the right spot to make a tackle. The other emphasis is special teams.
The offense showed considerable play ability last week. Senior quarterback Caden Andersen launched a long pass down the sideline to junior wideout Colton Rasmussen for a long touchdown and an early lead. Andersen completed 24-43 passes for 334-yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
Atlantic faces another solid opponent this week. Kuemper piled up 353 yards of offense, 221-yards rushing, and 132-yards passing.
Logan Sibinaller, sidelined with an injury, did not play against the Trojans one year ago. The senior has all cylinders working this season after compiling over 200 all-purpose yards last week against Logan-Magnolia. He rushed for 177 yards averaging 11.4 yards a carry and caught three passes of 43-yards.
Brummer says the key to success for the Trojans will be the standards; field position, turnovers, and penalties.
