(Washington, DC) — The Iowa congressional delegation has split its votes on nationwide access to contraception.
Democratic Congresswoman Cindy Axne says people deserve the right to make decisions about when they want to have children. She says access to birth control is threatened by recent signals from the U-S Supreme Court.
Republican Congresswoman Ashley Hinson says the bill she voted against had provisions that were too extreme. She said it would violate conscience protections for health care providers and send taxpayer dollars to abortion providers.
