(Audubon) Voters in Audubon will once again have the option to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to a bond referendum for a new fire station.
Last November 66% of voters voted against it. It’s all set to be back on the ballot again this fall according to City Clerk Joe Foran. “The council approved a resolution to bond not to exceed $2.8 million to acquire and build a new fire station here in town.”
Meanwhile, $400,000 in bonding for repairs to the community pool appeared on Monday’s city council agenda, but it was tabled. “They want the engineers to come in and they want to ask a few more questions about the preliminary engineering report before they move forward on that.”
Foran says pool repairs could still happen this fall since a $400,000 bond would not need to go to a public vote.
