(Red Oak) Montgomery County Sheriff Jeff Spunaugle is requesting ARPA funding to upgrade the Law Enforcement Center with LED lighting.
Sheriff Spunaugle appeared in front of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday morning. He says MidAmerica provides an incentive that pays for 25 percent of the project.
Sheriff Spunaugle says the cost to replace the fixtures is around $34,400.00; of that, MidAmerica would kick in about $8,600.00. The new lighting would save the county around $7,634.00 per year.
Spunaugle says the LED lights as an entire project would last about ten years.
Sheriff Spunaugle likes the plan to remove all light fixtures and replace them with new panels.
The request will be placed on a supervisor’s meeting agenda in the near future.
