(Adair Co.) Recycling bins in Adair County will soon stop accepting plastic.
Adair County Board of Supervisors Chairman Matt Wedemeyer explained to the Board this morning that two weeks ago at the landfill meeting they voted to no longer have plastic in the recycling bins.
Starting August 1st, the bins in all of the communities will have the plastic section re-labeled to mixed paper. There will be a plastic recycling bin at the Landfill so if anyone wants to continue to recycle plastic, they can take it there during business hours. Otherwise, the bins in the towns will only accept glass, tin cans, cardboard and mixed paper.
