(Atlantic) The Atlantic Girls’ soccer team is advancing to the regional semi-finals with a 3-0 win over Carroll on Friday night at Atlantic.
The two teams met on Monday in the regular season finale. Atlantic prevailed 1-0. Trojans Head Coach Dan Vargason says the team did a much better job offensively this second time around.
Carroll had no shots on goal, Jada Jensen scored two twice for Atlantic, and Aubrey Guyer set the tone early with the first goal.
Jensen’s 32-goals is a single-season record upping her old mark of 25 last year. This year’s squad now owns the single assist record, Guyer and Lindley Eblen the individual assist school record, goalie Edria Brummer owns the school record for shutouts in a single season, and the Trojans’ 11th win is also a new school record.
Atlantic travels to Lewis Central on Tuesday for a 6:00 p.m. start. The winner plays the victor between Glenwood and ADM in a Regional Final on Thursday.
